A special charter service on our vintage train is just the ticket for large groups, whether it’s an entire school delving into the depths of history, a birthday celebration, a car club cruising through the Valley on a Sunday afternoon or a bridal party enroute to the ceremony (by rail of course); all weather rollingstock and sheltered platform areas provide the perfect venue for all events, come rain, hail or shine!

Our Heritage Railmotor

22RM Walker Railmotor

All charters are conducted on the fully restored 22RM Walker Railmotor. This type of railmotor was built for the Victorian Railways bewteen 1948-1955. 22RM was painstakingly restored to operational status by the Volunteers of the Yarra Valley Railway, on site in the Healesville Station Mechanical Workshop. The restoration was of such high quality, the Yarra Valley Railway received a national restoration award in 2009.
22RM seats up to 40 passengers. Multiple train rides can be arranged for larger groups.

Our Venues

Healesville Station Goods Shed

Healesville Station Goods Shed was built by the Victorian Railways and was used to receive and store goods being transported by rail. This building played a significant role in the transporation of goods to and from Healesville and beyond in the days when railway was the major transporter of freight.

The historically significant Goods Shed has been restored to its former glory. This rustic, unique venue is now available and would suit community meetings, special events, self-catered dinners, and parties. Not available for teeange/18th/21st parties.

Toilets for Goods Shed events are located at the nearby Healesville station building just 150 metres away. Due to it's heritage nature there is no kitchen in the goods shed. Ample car parking is available adjacent.

Healesville Station Platform & Waiting Area

The platform area and open waiting shelter are available for use by groups when chartering the Walker Railmotor. The platform and waiting shelter are lit for evening functions. Ample carparking is located adjacent to the station buidling.

Healesville Station is also adjacent to Healesville Community Labyrinth and children's playground.
